Itinerary Detail

Day 1, Kathmandu to Zhangmu (2300m.) to123 Km.
SAT Early morning drive from Kathmandu to Kodari. After doing immigration and custom formalities drive uphill to Zhangmu immigration Post. Complete custom formalities. Over night at Hotel.

Day 2, Zhangmu to Xegar (4350m.) to244 Km.
SUN Drive to Xegar crossing NYALAMU PASS (3800m.) & LALUNG LA PASS (5050m.). This drive offers fantastic view of the high mountains including Everest (8848m.). Over night stay at Hotel.

Day 3, Xegar to Xigatse (3900m.) to244 Km.
MON We continue on our drive to Lhatse (T-cross to Mt. Everest), and crossing over the Gyatsola Pass at 5,220 m, which is the highest point to Xigatse (240 Km). Xigatse is the second largest town in Tibet and the capital of Tsang, lying 354 Km. west of Lhasa at an altitude of 3,810-m. Xigatse has the famous Tashilunpo Monastery and the seat of Panchen Lama. (Approx. 8 hrs drive) Over night stay at Hotel.

Day 4, Xigatse to Gyantse (3900m.)to 90 Km.
TUE In the morning visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the free market of Xigatse. In the afternoon drive to Gyantse, which is a pastoral town between Lhasa and Xigatse. At the afternoon we visit Phalkor Monastery and Khumbum Stupa. Over night stay at Hotel.

Day 5, Gyantse to Lhasa (3650m.) to259 Km.
WED The picturesque drive to Lhasa takes 08 hours, crossing two passesto THE KARO LA (5010m) and KAMBA LA (4794m.) via Yamdrok Tso Lake. Over night stay in hotel.

Day 6, Sightseeing tour at Lhasa.
LHASA: sightseeing tour at Lhasa includes Jokhang Temple, situated in the THURS, FRI heart of Old Lhasa, it houses Tibet's most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha that was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Srongtsen Gompo. Surrounding the Jokhang Temple is the bustling Barkhor Market place, which is the religious and social focus of Lhasa. Later in the day visit the Potala Palace; this legendary palace built atop a single hill is synonymous with Tibet by the first foremost king Srongtsen Gompo. The 5th Dalai Lama expanded it to its present structure during the 17th century. This 13 story 1000 room citadel served as the headquarters of the former "church-state" of Tibet and was home to successive Dalai Lamas, who from the latter half of the 18th century used it as their Winter palace. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 8, Transfer to Gonggar airport for your onward flight to Katmandu.
