Begin with a spectacular flight over the Himalayas followed by a widespread insight into Tibetan culture with visits to all the famous sights and monuments within Lhasa and its surrounds. Start an overland journey by Land Cruiser to the famous Monastery at Rongbuk and an excursion to the Base of Everest visiting a number of important sights of historical interest on the way.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Fly, Kathmandu / Lhasa, transfer to hotel
Day 02: Guided sightseeing tour of Potala Palace, Norbulinka Palace, Drepung.
Day 03: Guided sightseeing tour: Ganden, Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Bazaar.
Day 04: Drive, Lhasa / Tsedang, en route visit Samye monastery and Yambulakhang.
Day 05: Tsedang / Gyantse. Visit to Khumbum Stupa and Phalkor Monastery.
Day 06: Gyantse / Shigatse via Shalu Monastery. Visit to Tashilhunpo Monastery.
Day 07: Shigatse / Xegar.
Day 08: Xegar / Rongbuk.
Day 09: Excursion to Everest Base Camp.
Day 10: Rongbuk / Nyalam.
Day 11: Nyalam / Zhang-Mu / Kathmandu.
