Jomsom Muktinath Trekking

This trek follows the Kali Gandaki valley. It is the deepest valley in the world. In between the two sides of the valley lie Annapurna I and Annapurna II which are above 8,000 meters. Jomsom is famous for its apple orchards and a little below are orange gardens. Manang and Mustang are the two peaks which lies beyond the Annapurna mountain peaks.

This trekking offer the famous temple of Lord Muktinath lies in the district of Mustang and is situated about 18km northeast of Jomsom at an altitude of about 3,802m. The main shrine is a pagoda temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Sets into the wall around it are 108 waterspouts from which pour holy water. The temple is situated on a high mountain range and is visited during fair weather. It is believed that one should visit this temple after competing pilgrimages of four Dhams in India . This temple held sacred by Hindus as well as Buddhists. The Jwala Mai temple nearby contains a spring and an eternal flame fed by natural gas underground.

 


On the way to Muktinath we reach Jomsom. It is major center in the Annapurna region. Jomsom lies on the upper reaches of the Kali Gandaki valley. Which provides the clear passage though the virtually impenetrable Himalayas . The kali Gandaki gorge, three mile deep, is said to be the deepest in the world and is flanked by Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range.
